Internet Advertising Passes Radio

There was an interesting article from eMarketer a few weeks back that lists internet as surpassing radio as an advertising medium.

I would have thought this happened a long time ago, but it only happened this year. It’s an interesting reflection of just how much potential the internet still holds that it is only now passing an advertising medium first invented a century ago.

A quick look at the internet compared to radio in billions of dollars:

*  2006: $16.9, $20.1
* 2007: $21.7, $20.4
* 2008: $28.2, $21
* 2009: $34, $21.5
* 2010: $39, $22.1
* 2011: $44, $22.6
